Joey Saldana is honored and thrilled to be racing the #9
Kasey Kahne owned World of Outlaws Sprint Car for the third season.
The Team is pleased to have Open Joist and Mopar continuing their
support and sponsorship in the upcoming season. Budweiser has also
joined in sponsorship bringing great opportunities to the Team. With
the help of these sponsors and many associate sponsors, including HE&M
Saw, the #9 KKR/Joey
Saldana World of Outlaws Team expects to be a true contender for the
2008 World of Outlaws Championship.
2007 was a record breaking season for Joey personally. Joey started off
strong with an All Star win on the first night of racing at Volusia
County in Florida. Continuing his strong run, he captured his first WoO
win of the season at Tulare, CA on February 23rd. Then a few races later,
Joey won three exciting races in a row at Magnolia, MS., Dixie, GA and
Bull's Gap, TN.
Joey's consistency continued on when he won again at Attica, OH in
April. A string of top ten runs brought Joey back to victory lane at
Kokomo Speedway in his home state of Indiana. Joey brought a packed
house of fans, family, and friends to their feet as he raced his way to
the front to capture his seventh victory of the season.
The following race would prove to be as exciting and sentimental as Joey
won the Eagle Nationals at Eagle, NE for the first time. This track was
the same track that "Little Joe", Joey's father started racing on when
he began his racing career.
As the season progressed, Joey found himself in winner's circle at
Pevely, MO for the ESPN televised Month of Money race, as it was another
exciting race to take the checkered flag at.
The Knoxville Nationals proved to be successful as Joey ran second for
the second year in a row after charging from ninth starting position.
As the series headed west, Joey and the Team looked forward to racing in Kasey's home state of Washington where Kasey's family, friends, and fans
showed their support of Joey and Kasey's sprint car Team. After two
strong second place finishes in Washington, the Team headed down to
Cottage Grove, OR where they found themselves victorious again.
The entire west coast seemed favorable to Joey as the Team ventured into
Calfifornia where Joey had two fith place finishes at Calistoga and then
went on to win the pre-lim night at Chico's Gold Cup. Joey excited the
crowd as he rode the cushion hard from eleventh only to pass Steve
Kinser for the win. Winning the pre-lim benefitted Joey in points,
allowing him to be high points man going into Saturday night's "A". Joey
raced methodically as he captured his first Prestigious $50,000 to win
Gold Cup.
The Team headed back to the midwest where Joey was again consistent with
strong finishes. Then back to Eldora where he would win his record 14th
World of Outlaws race in a season.
The "Brownsburg Bullet" Saldana earned his best finish with the World of
Outlaws in 2007 when he finished second in points. He now has 44 career
WoO wins and 66 career All Star wins.
Joey expects big things from himself and his Team in the 2008 season and
will continue to strive for a World of Outlaws Championship.
