In 2012 OSHA made changes to their Hazard Communication System requiring manufacturers and importers of chemicals to replace Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) with the Safety Data Sheets (SDS) that align with the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS) .
This change is meant to simplify communication regarding hazardous materials and create consistency internationally.
The deadline for these changes is December 01, 2015. Start training your employees now in preparation for the upcoming changes and ask your vendors when their new SDS sheets will be available.
